Hasçelik Makes a €35 Million Investment in Machinery and Equipment

Hasçelik, which has entered Turkey's top 500 exporters, invested 35 million Euros in machinery and equipment in 2021 and 2022. The company aims to increase its export share from 20% to 35% by the end of 2027. 

CEO Adnan Naci Faydasıçok, stating that 2021 was extremely successful for Hasçelik, mentioned that production and sales volumes increased by 11% as the impact of the pandemic decreased. Adnan Naci Faydasıçok shared that with this increase, they rose 77 places in the ISO 500 list compared to the previous year, ranking 228th, and said that they are also among the top 500 in the first 1000 exporters list announced by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM). Faydasıçok, expressing that strong demand continued in the first three quarters of this year and they maintained growth, said, "By implementing 35 million Euros of machinery and equipment investment in 2021 and 2022, we strengthened our international visibility with our new overseas company investments. 

He also added: "2022 was a year where we accelerated our investments and expanded into new geographies. We launched our investment in Turkey's and Europe's most modern chrome-plated rod and honed (SRB) pipe with a closed area of 15,000 square meters. We completed the commissioning of the draw benches at our Konya and Gebze facilities. The commissioning of our hot rolled product (Black bar) quality control finishing line is ongoing. We have put into operation a total of 55,000 square meters of additional storage space in Konya, Istanbul, and Gebze to successfully continue increasing logistics and service capabilities. We also opened new warehouse spaces in Mexico and Antwerp abroad." 

Operating in an Area of 200,000 Square Meters

Recalling that in 2021, Hasçelik exported $70 million to 67 countries in Europe, South America, Central America, and the Middle East, Faydasıçok stated that this figure is expected to reach $84 million in 2022, a 20% increase. He said, "We aim to increase our export share, which is around 20%, to 35% by the end of 2027 as part of our strategic plans." Faydasıçok mentioned that they will strengthen their position in the international market through offices and warehouses in Mexico, the UK, and Germany. He emphasized that Turkey is an important player in the global steel market and made the following evaluation about the sector: "Our country moved up to 7th place in the world in 2021, surpassing Germany with steel production exceeding 40 million tons. With new investments set to come online in 2023, a capacity increase of about 7-8 million tons in crude steel production is expected. In 2021, 33.8 million tons of steel were consumed, with 16 million tons being long steel and 17.8 million tons flat steel. 45% of the steel produced was exported." Faydasıçok also stated that in 2021, iron and steel exports accounted for 10% of total exports, making it the third-largest sector after automotive and chemicals.

Hasçelik's Activities

Hasçelik engages in the production of alloy steel hot rolling, bright steel production, alloy steel, seamless steel pipe drawing, the production of high-strength mining balls, and high-precision hard chrome-plated shaft and pipe manufacturing. The company operates 6 factories and has a total of 200,000 square meters of operating space with 10 warehouses in 8 cities in Turkey and 3 warehouses abroad. Faydasıçok also stated that in their new investment, the Chromebar facility, they are producing high-precision hard chrome-plated shafts and honed (SRB) pipes to meet the industry’s needs, focusing on industries such as automotive, machinery, defense, mining, white goods, and marine.
